Had a chance to visit The Oval on Tuesday night to take some pictures for a charity and stayed on to watch the match, armed with my D90 and Nikon 18-200 VR-II. I'm a bit jealous of the guys with the photographer waistcoats who get onto the pitch.
The colours in the ground are pretty good and the sky helped too. Wasn't a big crowd so shooting from the terraces at the Dee Street end was pretty easy.
Tried a few match shots; 500 shutter speed and ISO up to 800 seemed to give good shots while the sun was still shining. Had to bump the ISO up when the sun went down until someone found 50p for the meter and the floodlights came on.
All in all good fun, and these were the shots that put my Flickr views for the past year over the 10,000 mark. Now where's the champagne?
