Shooting Elbow

Saw Elbow last week as part of the Belsonic Festival in Custom House Square, Belfast. Took the camera along as usual as did my good lady. We were both armed with zoom lenses and got there earlier enough to stake out a good spot at the front of the crowd. As Elbow were about to start, one of the Eventsec security staff came over and told us we couldn't photograph the concert "with zoom lenses."
Why stop us shooting with "zoom lenses?" Nearly everyone else in the crowd was shooting photos, mainly with pretty good quality compact cameras with powerful built-in zooms and high resoloution sensors. There was a guy with a video camera who hung over the barriers and recorded a fair chunk of the concert. So...I contacted Eventsec through their website to ask what their policy was. Their response was to ask what concert I was at. That's all. Since then (four days and counting) not a peep. Not an e-mail. Not a squeak. I'll let you all know what happens, if anything happens.
The pics were mostly shot with a 50mm f1.8 nikon lens which I tend to prefer for concert stuff anyway as it copes so well with low light levels.  And Elbow were fantastic - great live act from start to finish.
