367-50 Week 4

Here we go with week four of 367-50 and this surely marks getting the first month under my belt. Monday saw the first real flurry of snow of the winter and I couldn't resist the idea of getting the wee mountain climbers out into the elements. This shot was taken as the wee men scaled the improbable heights of the barbeque.

Tuesday's offering is a shot of my office beside County Hall in Ballymena. I'd previously posted a shot looking from the office towards the main building and this is the reverse. Laughingly called "the Chalet" its a big portacabin housing several diverse NEELB services.

Wednesday was spent out and about in schools around Ballymena. This was taken in the school garden of one of my primary schools. The garden is only used as a smoking area by the school principal and visitors like myself. The pupils from the adjacent special needs school simply stand and smoke at the fence.

On Thursday evening, it was the opening hight for the rebranded Pavona Bridal Shop. Very few people through the doors on a very cold and miserable evening, but the two models Taylor Rose (below) and Sophie were as beautiful as always. Both of the these ladies take a very good photograph, and although working with models is in the same bracket as landscapes for me (I just don't get either) this was fun.

Friday was a working from home day, and in between doing some work I stole the brussel sprouts which Trish had been using to make our family Xmas cards with. A quick dab of black marker, a trip to the chopping board and sharp knife later, we ended up with this shot, entitled "The Sprout's Fear of Christmas."

On Saturday I took a walk around Shaw's Bridge whilst the wee monkey was at her tutor's. This was cold and very pointless. I don't know if it was just a dull day or if I was lacking in any inspiration but the best I could do was attempting to turn a dull picture or trees into a dull black and white picture of trees. As a last resort, I decided to rely on cheap photoshp gimmickry to produce this rather hasty portrait of Sarah.

10/12/11

Spent today in town, visiting the Black Box Xmas Bazaar (empty) and the Crafty fair at The Spring and Airbrake (almost empty). After this pointless couple of hours and a trip to Jessops to salivate over expensive lenses we had a mega feed in Maggie Mays in Botanic. Walking back to car from the Spring and Airbrake the light was amazing as the sun went down, bathing the tops of the buildings in Ormeau Avenue in a beautiful golden colour.

11/12/11

One month done, 11 to go. 27 shots out of a possible 367 taken so far. Go to run as we're off to see Mrs Brown Rides Again at the Odyssey this evening. Ciao!
