About four weeks ago, I was passing through Dundrum in County Down at a silly hour of the morning and noticed that the little local barber shop was open. I needed a haircut, so went in to find a shop that looked like it hadn't changed in 50 years. The barber gave me a damn good haircut (very reasonably priced too) and off I went. Shortly afterwards I was kicking myself that I hadn't asked him if I could take some photos in the shop. Weeks passed and my hair grew. I put off going for another haircut until I knew I'd be down this way again and this morning I got my hair cut and remembered to take my camera.
And here's the fine gentleman himself, with a clumsy togger reflected in the mirror. Been here cutting hair for 30 years and he also cuts hair in one of the local psychiatric hospitals. Old style haircuts are few and far between - I think this might a regular treat for me from now on.
